Page three editors on the best books to gift Dad for Father’s Day

It’s time to start thinking about what great book you’re going to gift Dad for Father’s Day this year.

Page Six’s writers and editors are rounding up their favorite reads for dads to enjoy while lounging in their favorite chair.

From sci-fi and fantasy to nonfiction and history, there’s a book recommendation below for every father out there.

“Project Hail Mary” by Andy Weir

“I read this for a book club my sister and I are in and we absolutely fell in love with science teacher-turned-astronaut Ryland Grace and his new space companion, Rocky! The author is a diehard fan of The Beatles, so I knew my dad — a music lover himself — would appreciate all the fun Easter eggs sprinkled throughout the pages.

“On top of that, the novel is being turned into a motion picture film starring Ryan Gosling as the lead. Excited to have a father-daughters outing to the cinema when it comes out next year!” — Desiree Murphy, Page Six Deputy Edito

“The Will of the Many” by James Islington

“My stepdad is very into fantasy books like ‘Game of Thrones’ and ‘Name of the Wind,’ so I’m going to make him read ‘The Will of the Many’ before the second book in the series, ‘The Strength of the Few,’ comes out this November. This was easily my favorite fantasy read last year, and I cannot wait for him to read the ending of this book and be as speechless as I was.” — Lindsey Kupfer, Page Six Deputy Editor

“God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater” by Kurt Vonnegut

“Kurt Vonnegut’s hilarious and introspective novel centers around the wealthy Eliot, who inherited his luxurious circumstances from his father, Senator Rosewater. Grasping for purpose in life, Eliot transforms himself into a philanthropist as his uber-rich family works against him. The scathingly funny satirical novel explores the complexities of family relationships, generational wealth, human nature and philanthropy — all topics a dad with a social conscience will appreciate.” — Audrey Rock, Page Six Reporter

Katy Perry’s ‘devastating’ album flop has caused ‘tension’ with fiancé Orlando Bloom: report

Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom are “Hot N Cold.”

The couple’s relationship has reportedly experienced “tension” and “stress” amid the singer’s “devastating” album flop.

“Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album,” a source told People on Monday of “143.”

The couple’s relationship has reportedly experienced “tension” and “stress” amid the singer’s “devastating” album flop.

“Katy was deeply frustrated following the reception of her new album,” a source told People on Monday of “143.”

Reps for Perry and Bloom did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.

The singer started dating Bloom in 2016, and the duo had an on-again, off-again romance before getting engaged in 2019.

“full bloom,” the bride-to-be captioned her Instagram reveal, which prominently featured her flower ring

Although the pair were initially going to tie the knot in 2020, they postponed their nuptials due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The couple, who share 4-year-old daughter Daisy, have not divulged any details about their plans for another ceremony.

Perry did, however, make a racy admission about her romance on “Call Her Daddy” in September 2024, telling podcast listeners she performs oral sex when her partner does chores.

One week later, she and the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star made out onstage while she accepted the Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards.

Perry performed a medley of her greatest hits during the awards show but did not sing any from her seventh studio album, which came out that same month.

“143,” the 15-track record, has been panned — as were her dance moves when the “Lifetimes” tour began.

Perry hit back at “unhinged” haters treating her like “a human piñata” in an April Instagram statement.

“l’m on a human journey playing the game of life with an audience of many and sometimes I fall but … I get back up and go on and continue to play the game,” the “battered and bruised” Grammy nominee wrote.

The songwriter, notably, has also been blasted in recent months for being a part of the historic Blue Origin spaceflight with Lauren Sánchez and Gayle King, among other women.

Perry was trolled for revealing her tour set list while in space.
